Is this you?I grew up in an extended household with a lot of kids, so once I settled on medicine as my career, pediatrics was a natural choice. I am a California boy through and through. I was born here, and with... the exception of my years in medical school and residency, I have lived all my life in California. Although I have always wanted to practice medicine, I also love history, aviation, and field biology. At one point I even considered becoming a journalist. The greatest challenge in my life is that so many things interest me it has been hard sometimes to choose among them. Sun Tzu explains in his book The Art of War how the pinnacle of excellence is to defeat an enemy without fighting it.
