I was born in the Virgin Islands and was raised in North Carolina. I returned to the Caribbean after completing undergraduate studies in Environmental Science and Spanish to volunteer with the U.S. Pe...ace Corps. While in the Dominican Republic, I served as an interpreter for visiting physicians and surgeons, and as a result, I decided to earn a medical degree when I returned to the United States. I continued my education in North Carolina at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, where I also completed an internship in Internal Medicine before joining Summa Health System in Northeast Ohio for ophthalmology training.
