Dr. Burroughs grew up in Colorado Springs graduating from Air Academy High School. He then graduated with honors from the University of Texas. He completed his medical degree in 1993 at the highly sel...ective Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine) in Maryland on full Air Force scholarship. His follow-on transitional internship was surgically concentrated followed by Ophthalmology residency in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Burroughs is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and theAmerican Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Burroughs has been a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association since 1989. He is also a member in good standing with other medical societies to include the El Paso County Medical Society and Colorado Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Burroughs has been a Professor of Surgery for the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine), the University of Utah, and is currently an Adjunct Professor of Surgery for Rocky Vista University.
