I was born in Philadelphia but grew up in rural southwestern Michigan. After graduating from college, I worked in New York City at an advertising firm for three years before deciding to go to medical ...school. In medical school I met my wife, and we were married just before beginning our residencies. I practiced as a hospitalist in Connecticut for six years, but following the birth of our daughter my wife and I decided to move to Southern California to be closer to our families. In my free time I enjoy playing and listening to music, primarily jazz.
