Dr. Stephen Fox knew he would pursue a career in the medical field at a young age?in fact, it was his own family doctor that initially inspired him. Dr. Fox's memories of his childhood physician helpi...ng patients stuck with him throughout his early academic days. Upon graduating with his medical degree, Dr. Fox went on to complete an internship at the Rhode Island Hospital, Brown University Program of Medicine, followed by a residency at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego. He completed his Renal Fellowship at the University of California, San Diego, Department of Medicine. Dr. Fox served his country as a physician in the United States Navy. He worked as an active duty Naval physician for 10 years, serving primarily at the Naval Hospitals in San Diego and Oakland, California. He served as the nephrologist aboard the Navy hospital ship, USNS Mercy, in the Persian Gulf during the first Gulf War. In his work, Dr. Fox works to treat every patient as he would want his own family to be treated with attentiveness and consideration for individual health and lifestyle. Dr. Fox considers himself privileged to have a career he loves in which he feels challenged and fulfilled.
